Briars
Here in SJH you may hear ‘The Briars’ and ‘NDCYS’ mentioned a lot and that is because we value and support the work of The Briars.
The Briars is a Catholic Retreat Center in Crich, Matlock and NDCYS stands for Nottingham Diocese Catholic Youth Service.
I am grateful to each Tutor Group who made ‘Good Luck’, ‘Thank You’ and ‘Thinking of You’ cards for the Team. ‘The Team’ are young people who have given a year to serve others by working at Briars in their ‘gap year’. We are very proud that Molly, a former SJH student, is on Team this year and I would like to sew the seed that YOU think about, pray about and do a year at Briars – I promise you, you will not regret it. I am always happy to take you on a visit, talk to you about what this might look like and introduce you to The Team.
