Admissions

A short welcome from Headteacher, Mr Brogan

On behalf of the pupils, staff and the Governing Body of Saint John Houghton Catholic Voluntary Academy, I am delighted to welcome you to our school website. I do hope you will find it of interest and that it will help give you information about our school community. I would add however, that there is nothing like a visit in person to help you to catch a flavour of our school and what we stand for.

Our aim is to deliver ‘world class’ education, opportunities, support and care for every child as unique children of God. We strive to ensure that the children in our care are loved, valued and supported and leave us as confident young adults ready for life in modern society, equipped with the skills necessary to survive and thrive in the world of today.

Overview of the Diocese of Nottingham

Saint John Houghton Catholic Voluntary Academy is under the Trusteeship of the Diocese of Nottingham and belong to the Nottingham Diocesan family of schools. They are founded by and are part of the Catholic Church and seek at all times to be a witness to Jesus Christ. Religious Education and worship are in accordance with the teachings and doctrines of the Catholic Church. This does not affect the right of parents or carers who are not of the faith of these schools to apply for and to be considered for places. We ask all parents or carers applying for a place to respect this ethos and its importance to the school community.
