On Tuesday, the PE department ran the Year 9 and Year 10 Inter Tutor Netball Tournament. There was a great turn out by both year groups, including staff who came down to support their tutors. All students showed team spirit and a positive moral throughout. The winners were 9A – Mrs Ryan and 10S – Mrs Etienne.

Saint John Houghton hosted this year’s Yr 7 & 8 Inter Tutor Netball Tournament on Tuesday 29th March. There were 4 year 7 tutor groups, making it an interesting competition, and there were 3 year 8 form groups partaking in the tournament. All students represented their form with pride and passion for the game of Netball, however they could only be one winner. In year 7, 7A (Mr O’Grady) were champions and in year 8, 8H (Mr Quenby) were champions. Big well done to the winners and all students who represented their tutor group!

The year 7’s showed determination and put a good shift in against Wilsthorpe, Friesland and Ilkeston School. The year 8’s were consistent throughout the tournament, and displayed excellent Netball against Friesland, Wilsthorpe and Kirk Hallam. They dominated the tournament and were the overall winners!

Friends of SJH – next coffee morning 16.6.2023

Here are Saint John Houghton CVA we want to reach out to our parishioners, friends, parents, grandparents, and local community and extend our ‘Mind to be merciful Café’ to all. To become a ‘listening and open to all Academy’ we decided to open our doors to share free refreshments and positive conversation.   We were so blessed to enjoy the company of governors and parishioners!  It certainly was the staff who learnt about the history of the school during the chat!  How great to be taught by parishioners from Ilkeston.
